Just A Simple Wedding Cake

The request from the bride and groom for our upcoming (that means in 6 days) wedding has requested "just" a simple square wedding cake so they can have their ceremonial cake cutting and then cupcakes for the guests.

Cupcakes - DONE

Simple Square Wedding - OMFG!!

Having NEVER made a wedding cake and terrified that I'm going to screw up their special day I'm having a bit of an issue.

Does simple mean "just plainly frosted" or does simple mean "two layers or three" or does simple mean "something elaborate with candied flower petals and basket weave"?????????

HELP ME OUT HERE BRIDE AND GROOM!!

Now I've been to plenty of weddings where the wedding cake just "SIMPLY" sucked and that seems to be the only thing the guests, bridal party and family remember - FOR EVER!

Oh, what have I done to msyelf............

i will ship you a mardi gras king cake, just in case. it's basically an over-sugared, dried out, cinnamon roll. Enjoy!
